Fall Colors

This fall has been very colorful. I'm not sure if it was because of all the rain we got earlier this month or not. I did managed to get some good fall pictures on my bike rides and hikes that I wanted to share. The picture above is from the Manasquan reservoir which is near where I live so it was an easy place to go and find some nice color.

But you really didn't have to far to find some good foliage as I got a couple of shots just riding around my local neighborhood.

I did do a few hikes just to try and capture some of the good foliage this year. Here is a picture from Double Trouble State Park

The colors and scenery there were not as picturesque as I wanted so after seeing pictures of Lake Topanermus park on Facebook, I decided to take a ride and check it out. It is just a few miles away in Freehold. I went early in the morning to take advantage of the light at that time of the day. I knew it would provide some low angle light that should enhance the colors. Here is one of the better pictures I got.

It was definitely peak color here and I was lucky that the lake was calm, so I got some nice reflections. I spent about an hour walking around the lake and got a few more pictures to try and capture the colors

Of course, no picture can capture the vivid colors I saw but these are close. It was just enjoyable to walk around the park.

This past Saturday I did Laura's ride to Sergeantville and the fall foliage is still pretty colorful, but the leaves are starting to fall off the trees so the colorful landscape will soon be bare, and we will be stuck riding in the normal desolate landscape of winter.
